Our Focus on Mental Health
People Who Care (PWC) Children Association Afterschool Program located in Pittsburg CA, serves at risk youth ages 12-21 and families in East Contra Costa County, by providing preventive mental health services (i.e. individual and family therapy, anger management and other clinical groups, therapeutic spring and summer camps, and case management). PWC Clinical Success Program utilizes a Triage Model, consisting of: a Clinical Therapist, Intervention Resource Specialist, and Peer Counselor. Our Afterschool programs offer: community service, vocational and educational training, environmental green jobs and training, and social development.

Youth come to the program in varied ways: referrals from Probation, Courts, Schools Student Attendance Review Boards (SARB), Parents, and Self Referrals. PWC in partnership with Contra Costa County Mental Health, Probation, Pittsburg Unified School Districts (Pittsburg, Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley, and others), and surrounding communities in East Contra Costa County.
Open Monday – Friday. 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Community event days and times are scheduled on an as needed bases. Staff are fluent in English and Spanish. All services are provided at no cost to participants.
